Announcements
The Group Announcements application is where you can post important
news and pictures about your group. All announcements appear right
on your intranet home page where members are sure to see it. Your
members will read announcements daily. Make sure you always post
something new and interesting to pique their interest. Here are
some typical items our members post regularly:

Welcome a new employee with a photo and a short write-up
· Announce a new customer, partner, or really big sale
· Trumpet a new company milestone, such as your 10,000th
customer, or your 10th anniversary
· Announce an employee's marriage, or the birth of a child
· Keep employees informed of last quarter's financial results
· Notify everyone of the latest news or the next deadline
Announcements
also features a rich text editor, enabling you to create customized
announcements and newsletters for your group. You can cut and paste
documents and web graphics into the editor and all the formatting
and links will be preserved. Font sizes and colors, margin settings,
even tables and pictures will all appear right in your intranet
site.
Online
Discussions
Use the Online Discussions forum to post and generate ideas, ask
questions and conduct live discussions at any time from anywhere.
Discussions are divided into forums that enable focused discussions.
Within each forum, you might find several different message threads
relating to the topic of the forum.
Here are some discussion forums you might create:

Generate ideas on marketing strategies for your new product
· Solicit input from your group on where to have the next
company outing
· Create a corporate suggestion box and have management
respond to the ideas
· Create a forum where people can request office supplies
You
can choose individuals to participate in a discussion or you can
open it up to the entire membership. Either way, you'll find that
discussions are fun as well as productive.
Email
My Mail Box is a full-featured, web-based email program. Because
it's built in to your intranet, you can conveniently send and receive
email at the same time you're doing other work at your intranet.
My Mail Box Features
The
intranet administrator decides whether to allow members to create
email accounts using your site's URL. Once an administrator enables
email for your intranet, members can create their personal email
accounts.
When
you set up a Mailbox account, you get a personalized email address
and you see My Mail Box at the left of your intranet. Simply click
My Mail Box to access your intranet email. You can create folders
to store email messages and forward mail from other POP3 accounts
to your intranet email account. Each member can store up to 10 MB
of email, which does not count toward the storage limit for your
intranet.
